The largest European apple producers are France, Italy and Spain. It was previously planted as a pollen “provider” in Hungary and due to inadequate technology and poor quality of the harvest, the proportion of fruit was reduced to the early 1990’s. After the emergence of new clones its role grows in the country. Yellow-green or bright yellow apples with a sweet, softer flesh. Ideal for cakes. The skin is thicker, so many people peel it.
